Read step by step:

Step 1: Download app.

Download the Cembra App from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.

Step 2: Activate the app.

To do so, open the app, scan your personal QR code that you received in a letter, and you’ll then be guided through the registration process. Alternatively, you can also enter your personal access data manually.

After you enter your personal access data, your personal security code (MTAN) for the initial activation will be sent to the mobile phone number on file with us. By entering your security code (MTAN) in the Cembra App, you will successfully complete your registration and automatically be entered into the prize draw for CHF 5’000.–* or 1 of 5 smartphones.

Info: Make sure that your mobile phone number as it appears in the letter is up-to-date. If you have not yet registered a mobile phone number with us, please contact us immediately: HOTLINE +41 (0)44 439 40 20.

  • Registration and installation
    • What is the oldest operating system the app can run on? Which version of my operating system is required for the Cembra App?

      On iOS, the app runs on versions 13, 14, and 15. On Android, the app runs on version 10.1 or later.

    • How do I receive the registration letter as a customer?

      You can conveniently request a registration letter at cembra.ch/app. You will receive it by post within a few days.

    • Can I receive the registration letter by email?

      For security reasons, the registration letter cannot be not sent by email.

    • I can’t scan the registration QR code. Is there another way to register?

      You can also enter your personal access data manually in the app. To do so, enter your username and login key by hand.

    • I need a new QR code. How do I receive one?

      You have two options to receive a new registration letter:

      1. You can call Customer Service (+41 (0)44 439 40 20) to have a new registration letter sent.
      2. You can also order a new registration letter via our website: cembra.ch/app.
    • My QR code is no longer valid because it is more than 6 months old or because the security code (MTAN) has been entered more than 10 times. What can I do?

      You have two options to receive a new registration letter:

      1. You can call Customer Service (+41 (0)44 439 40 20) to have a new registration letter sent.
      2. You can also order a new registration letter via our website: cembra.ch/app.
    • I have not received the MTAN via text message. What can I do?
      First, check whether we have your correct mobile phone number. You can request a new text message with an MTAN in the app ("Resend text message").

      Important: If the MTAN has not been entered correctly after 10 text messages have been sent, your personal access data will expire and you will have to request a new registration letter via cembra.ch/app.
    • Can I use multiple phone numbers for app registration?

      You can only use the mobile phone number that is on file with Cembra for registration.

    • I am a new customer as of May 2022 (or later). How do I receive a registration letter?

      You will receive a registration letter with your login details in the next few weeks.

    • I have a new device. Do I have to register again?

      Yes, if you have a new device, you will have to register again. You can use the same access data or QR code for this purpose, as long as it is not older than 6 months. If you need a new registration letter, please contact the Customer Service: +41(0) 44 439 40 20, Mon to Fri from 8.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.

  • Login/access code
    • What are the criteria for the login/access code? What criteria does my access code for the app have to meet?

      Access codes must meet these criteria:

      • exactly 6 digits
      • no number more than once («11») and no consecutive numbers («123» or «789»)

      Important: The data will not be validated.

    • I have forgotten my access code. What can I do?

      If you are not using biometric authentication, delete the app, download it again and log in.

    • I can’t remember the last access code. What can I do?

      Delete the app, download it again and log in.

    • After I have registered for the app, can I still use my eService (login) in parallel?

      Yes, you can still use your eService (login) after registering for the Cembra App.

    • How can I disable biometric authentication in the app?

      You can turn off biometric authentication in the app settings.

    • I have different Cembra products (e.g. Cumulus Mastercard, Cembra Leasing, Cembra Credit). Can I see all my products under the same login?

      At the moment, only credit cards are visible under this login. Further feature and products are planned for future updates.

  • Cembra account
    • Can I log in to the same account on multiple devices?

      Yes, you can access your Cembra main credit account from multiple devices with the same login.

      However, your access data cannot be used for a partner card/additional card.
      Separate registration letters will be sent out in future for partner cards/additional cards. These are in progress.

    • How can I disable push notifications from the app?

      You can turn off push notifications within the app in «Notifications/Configuration».

    • Can the Cembra App also be used to access information on other Cembra products?

      Currently, only information on Cembra credit card products is available within the Cembra App. Further features and products are planned for future updates.

    • How can I add an additional credit card account in the app?

      Within the app, all credit card products and all associated partner cards are automatically visible.

  • Features
    • What new features does the app offer?

      The app offers the following new features:

      • Change email address
      • Change phone number
      • Pause/unblock credit card
    • Can I apply for an additional credit card in the app?

      Currently, additional cards cannot be ordered via the app. If you would like to apply for an additional card, please complete an application for an additional card and send it to Cembra. Afterwards, the information on this card will also be available in the app. You can find more information on Cembra credit cards at cembra.ch/en/cards under «More information» for your credit card product.

    • I don’t receive any notifications from the app. How can I change this?

      You can activate notifications in the app settings.

    • I have not received a 3D Secure Code. What could be the reason for this?

      In the app settings, you can activate push notifications to receive your 3D Secure Code.

    • Can I disable 3D Secure Code verification in the app?

      It is currently not yet possible to disable 3D Secure Code verification in the Cembra App.

  • Security
    • How secure is the Cembra App?

      The Cembra App uses the 2-factor authentication, transaction verification and encryption security features installed on modern smartphones to protect customer data, accounts and transactions. In addition, the app and its associated infrastructure have been extensively tested for security to avoid vulnerabilities and security gaps and to ensure the best possible protection for customers.

    • Can I reactivate my credit card myself after pausing it?

      Yes, you can deactivate or pause your credit card yourself in the Cembra App (under Cards) and also reactivate it.

    • Can I disable 3D Secure Code verification in the app?

      It is currently not yet possible to disable 3D Secure Code verification in the Cembra App.

    • I have not received a 3D Secure Code. What could be the reason for this?

      In the app settings, you can activate push notifications to receive your 3D Secure Code.

  • Transactions and account statement
    • Are my purchases visible in the Cembra App immediately after the transaction?

      Yes, you can track almost all transactions in real time, with a few exceptions (e.g. transactions at toll booths, offline terminals, petrol stations and car parks may be displayed with a delay). Transactions made in the last 12 months prior to the current date are shown in the app.

    • Why are some transactions displayed as «transaction in progress»?

      «Transactions in progress» are pending transactions, such as reservations for a hire car.

    • Can I download account statements or send them via email?

      Yes, you can save, share and print account statements.

    • How can I view transaction details?

      If you want more detailed information about a specific transaction, you can tap directly on that transaction and the details will be shown.

    • Where can I see exchange rates or transaction fees?

      Simply tap on a transaction and the transaction details, including exchange rates and transaction fees, will be shown.

    • Can I search for specific transactions? (Example: I have a Netflix subscription and want to see all transactions to Netflix).

      No, this feature is currently not available. However, it will be integrated in a future update.

    • Can I pay bills directly via the app?

      No, but you can pay your monthly bill via QR-bill in the following ways:

      • via private e-banking with your bank or PostFinance
      • via direct debit from your bank or post office account

    • I don’t receive any notifications from the app. How can I change this?

      You can activate notifications in the app settings.
